Figuring Out Buyer Behavior
I communicated with three different people ranging in ages from 18 - 54. Overall in terms of the alternative evaluation all potential customers either said price or style matters the most to them. The 18 year old said style mattered the most the 31 year old said price and the 54 year old said price and style. The main reason the youngest participant said style, is because she feels that since she would be the one cleaning up the pet hair and my product would be on a key chain (or port-ably sized) she would like it to look good to others. But price wasn't a factor because her mom would be the one paying. My middle aged customer was more focused on the price since she said she would be getting my product for purely logical reasons. She didn't want to pay an absurd amount more for a "pattern that doesn't matter." The oldest person I interviewed said that price and style was important because she doesn't want it to look ratty on her key chain but also doesn't wanna pay much more than for a lint roller. Based on this it seems price is more important since my product is for practical reasons, the style would be an added bonus I can consider.
Because of the certain conditions of the world right now all three of my customers said they would prefer to purchase online because they aren't comfortable going into stores yet. If the pandemic wasn't going on two of my customers said they would prefer to try it out in person or in a store before purchasing to see if it works in a portable size. All interviewees said they prefer card as well. The two older customers said they would be doing the purchasing as they live alone or with kids and they have a dog at their home but the youngest girl said her mother would be doing the purchasing as its more important to her.
One thing my customers said makes them reconsider a purchase is if the price is too ridiculous for the product value. They said that overall if a product doesn't work properly that's also a negative. If the product meets or goes above standards then my customers said they'd be happy or one person said if it's admired or coveted by their friends its also worth it.
7. Overall I wold describe price to be the most important, the purchase decision is made by the individual with the pet and as long as the product is effective the post purchase attitude is positive.
