  1. Hello,
I enjoyed reading your post and specifically the 3rd article you discussed intrigued me. I am a current employee with the DEO for this summer and my job is essentially to assist people filing for unemployment and aid with any general questions so I am very familiar with the issues that many are experiencing around filing for unemployment, specifically because it is a lot of people's first time filing. The system and technological errors and the high volume of applicants specifically are causing the majority of the problems at the moment and it can be very frustrating for claimants.

  2. Hi,
I found the article about reopening Disney World to be very interesting, especially because there has been talk about the NBA finishing its season there. Reopening to its normal state was already going to a very difficult task, but now with the possibility of the entire NBA staying at Disney, they now have the challenge of reopening and hosting an entire league without contact between the two. I also enjoyed reading about the issue with filing for unemployment. This is obviously a very severe issue because of the pandemic as this uncertainty affects families across the country.

  3. Hello,
I enjoyed reading this post as I live in Florida as well and can relate to many of these articles. Your third article caught my attention as I know a variety of individuals who had issues filing for unemployment. The article about Disney is insane to me! This will be interesting to watch in action and see how the public reacts to this. This is just a part of the "new normal' that we will have to get used to.

  4. Hi,
There are plenty of local opportunities with all of the articles you chose. I noticed that with some are longer term such as unemployment, whereas others can be solved relatively quickly (the bear problem in Seminole County). With the article about Disney World, I can see that they are doing what they can to enforce social distancing, but at the same time, how effective is it to limit ticket sales? Also, what if a majority of the guests leave way before the park is expected to close? Safety always comes first, but I can see Disney making less profit with these new regulations.
